Ageing of the skin depends on two factors, firstly, from genes and endogenous factors, and secondly, from exogenous factors (poor diet, stress, alcohol, smoking, sun exposure etc.). However, out of all of these, the most harmful is exposure to the sun, and for this reason, extrinsic ageing has been termed photoageing.
What is photoageing and how do we treat it?
Photoageing is a dermatological condition that has been making its appearance more often in recent years, as a result of the deterioration of the ozone layer in the atmosphere. It begins well before it becomes visible externally, and acts cumulatively over the years, causing our skin to age prematurely (rough skin, wrinkles, sagging skin, discolouration and red vessels). However, all of these problems can be reversed and eliminated with the appropriate aesthetic care and of course, with the help of specialists.
