Arbutin

Unlike hydroquinone, alpha arbutin is derived from the bearberry plant and has no negative side effects on the skin. It is known to inhibit tyrosinase activity and prevent melanin formation. Alpha Arbutin is more stable than Beta Arbutin, but it is also more expensive to produce. Scientists consider Alpha Arbutin to be the safest option for skin whitening and minimizing dark spots due to its effect on the enzyme tyrosinase and its ability to be used safely.
