The miraculous benefits of pomegranate! 2 fresh homemade recipes for your face


This special and delicious fruit has historical roots from the fertile land of Mesopotamia, dating back to 4000 BC. According to the legend, the goddess of fertility Ishtar, offered this fruit as a gift to the people. As it is the season that we can find it in the grocery stores, let’s see how our body “processes” pomegranate each time we eat it!

Known worldwide for its beneficial properties, the pomegranate fruit has been commended within the scientific community: it contains phytochemicals, vitamins C, A and E, iron, potassium, ellagic acid, and 3 times more antioxidant than red wine and green tea.

It promotes good blood circulation, combats coughing, and it improves women’s fertility and erectile dysfunction in men. With regards to skin, pomegranate is the perfect solution for cleansing the skin, it reduces wrinkles and ulcers, and it can also be used for the treatment of burns and the herpes virus.

Of course, the pomegranate fruit is not only good for eating! Here are two wonderful recipes with pomegranate and ingredients that you have in your kitchen, which will make your skin shine!

1. Face mask with pomegranate and yoghurt: it provides radiance to the skin, and is suitable for all skin types.


The fruit of 1 pomegranate

1 tablespoon of yoghurt


Wrap 30 pomegranate seeds in a gauze

Dab your skin with the juice until it has been absorbed and your skin has turned a discreet pink colour. Put a clean gauze on your face and apply a thin layer of yoghurt on top of the pomegranate juice. Allow it to work for 20 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

2. Facial toner with pomegranate, rosewater and gin: it gives a youthful colour to the cheeks and tones the skin in depth.


  • The juice of one pomegranate
  • 100ml of rosewater
  • 1 teaspoon of gin


Mix all of the ingredients together until they become a uniform mixture.

Tone the skin with the lotion twice a day before applying your face cream. Do not rinse off.
